Privacy Policy

Summary

LiveRiver has no accounts, no cookies and no ads. It counts page views with privacy-friendly analytics.

Analytics

LiveRiver uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies. Visitors are counted with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and the data is only used in aggregate: the page path (without the part after ?, so share links are never reported), the referring site, country or region, browser, operating system and device type.

Stored in your browser

Your channel list, groups, colors, filters and time zone are kept in your browser's local storage (keys lr-channels, lr-prefs, lr-tz). To fetch the schedule, your browser sends the list of channel IDs to LiveRiver's server; nothing else from local storage is sent. You can erase everything in Settings → Clear all data.

Stored on our server

Public channel and stream information from YouTube and Twitch (titles, start and end times, durations, thumbnail and avatar URLs), shared by everyone and not linked to you. Finished streams are deleted after 30 days, and a channel nobody has viewed for 30 days is removed together with its streams.

To prevent abuse, when you look up or add a channel the server stores a one-way keyed hash of your IP address (never the address itself) with a request counter; these records are deleted after 7 days.

Hosting

LiveRiver runs on Vercel, which processes every request and may keep standard access logs (such as IP address and user agent) under Vercel's own privacy policy. The database is hosted by Supabase.

Share links

A share link contains your channels, colors and groups inside the URL itself. LiveRiver does not store it; anyone you give it to can see what it contains.

YouTube and Twitch

LiveRiver uses YouTube API Services. By using LiveRiver you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service; see also the Google Privacy Policy. LiveRiver never asks you to sign in to Google, so it holds no access to your Google account.

LiveRiver also uses the Twitch API (Twitch Privacy Notice). Thumbnails and avatars load directly from YouTube and Twitch servers, which receive your IP address like any image on the web; links open YouTube or Twitch.
